Calendar Girl Quilt

What so "Neil Sedaka" and "Quilted Quickies" have in common?...."Calendar Girl"

Greetings! I’m so honored to participate again in Holly Holderman’s dress blog event. Lakehouse fabrics are some of my favorite fabrics! I love the way Holly captures color on cloth! Always bright, crisp and clear! So “thank you” Holly!

When I received the dress panels, I didn’t know exactly what I wanted to do with them. So, I laid the panels in my living room for a couple of days and would catch glimpses of the little dresses throughout the day while walking by. I was at my quilt shop, filling some web orders and a light bulb went off in my head! “Twelve little dresses - How many months in a year?...Twelve!” And that’s how the “Calendar Girl” quilt came to be. If you are familiar with my Quilted Quickies patterns, then you probably know that I love doing seasonal designs. So this idea really made sense to me.

The “Calendar Girl” quilt has a very simple design layout embellished with buttons, ribbons, embroidery, and applique...this quilt will surely make any little girl smile everyday of the year. So sit back and take an entertaining look at Quilted Quickies “Calendar Girl” Quilt. We are taking pre-orders for this quilt kit on our web site (see details below).

I hope you enjoyed the movie! If you'd like to view our movie on a bigger screen click here.

New Friends

Nope...It's not Gidget

Well, Gidget and I made some new friends! Not hard to do in “blogland” that’s for sure. Vicky (LA Quilter) stopped by my blog a few days ago and WON!!! She responded to my first blog entry and entered her little doggie’s picture...little Miss Penny!

Talk about pull at my heartstrings!!! All it takes is a Dachshund and I’m all mush. I love ALL dogs...not just Doxies...so please send photos of your baby too! Gidget wants to start a dog blog of her own.

Anyway...usually I would present a prize of my patterns...fabric...etc. but I had to change it up a bit...something only a Dachshund lover would love. Well...it’s still kind of a surprise...cuz it’s going in the mail tomorrow...so I can’t say just now...except that I made a little video for Vicky and Penny as part of their gift/prize. I love making little videos for people to remember special moments, so please take a look if you have an extra two minutes on hand...watch Penny on "YouTube". We hope you enjoy seeing Penny in her first movie!

Vicky...I thank you for stopping by and hope you enjoy the video and your gift. Just a little “thank you” for stopping by our blog.

Private Note...guess not so private...Vicky...Daisy and Daisy are in Doggie Heaven looking down at our two girls (Penny and Gidget) and glad that we have our girls that have filled up our hearts with love...but knowing we never forget them.

Dolly Dresses 2 Blog Event

Yep...Holly has another winner! That is “Holly Holderman” of Lakehouse Fabrics! Holly is doing another “Dolly Dresses Blog Event” using her new line of fabric, “Dolly Dresses 2”.

The event will begin on December 4th featuring designers that have taken Holly’s new little dress panels and have created their own quilt design. All are talented designers that have put their own spin on using the dress panels as inspiration. This event is a “MUST SEE”!

Please join us on Holly’s blog December 4th to see the first designer and their rendition of Holly’s new “Dolly Dresses 2” fabrics.

Tentatively Quilted Quickies (us), will be featured on December 7th. If you like a simple project with fun embellishments like buttons, laces, and ribbons...you should be pleased with our project. Be sure to stop by our blog to see a special surprise we have for viewing our quilt.

A Bit of Work Before Play

No...this isn't Gidget...but a close "look-a-alike"! If I could only hire Gidget for some computer work...(sigh)!

I’m taking photos today and doing some adjustments to the photos for a secret project that will soon be announced by one of my favorite fabric designers!

Gidget and I wish you a very bountiful Thanksgiving...and hope everyone is spending time with their family and friends.

Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!

Happy Halloweenie!

I know...not a very creative title for this blog entry...but I think very funny! I’ve been known to laugh and enjoy my own jokes...if you don’t crack yourself up sometimes...you’re missing out!

These photos were sent in an email and wanted to share a few of the little cuties with you! If you know me...you know I’m a dog lover. Be sure you give your dog or kitty a kiss today and a special treat for Halloween.

Taking Off

Gidget, our shop mascot, looks like she is taking off with her cute little ears blowing back in the wind. Well we are taking off too...with a new blog and blog look. We just want to use the blog as a fun thing and not so much as a business thing. Of course we will discuss some business but mostly just fun stuff that just happens in the life of a quilter.

If you would like to “show & tell” a quilt, share a recipe, show off a picture of your cute dog or cat, or whatever...please email us at info@quiltedquickies.com and write a little article and send a photo of what you’d like to share. If we use your article and photo, we will send you a free little gift. We really hope you participate!
